Una encuesta realizada para conocer cuantas mujeres usan anticonceptivos combinados orales (ACO) en 15 países arrojo como resultado:
- Argentina ocupa el 4º con el 30% del uso de pastillas anticonceptivas.
La evolución de los anticonceptivos orales permitió que cada vez más mujeres en el mundo elijen las píldoras anticonceptivas como método para la prevención de embarazos no deseados.
“Es un método seguro, simple y permite recuperar la fertilidad natural con su toma diaria”, expresó Philip Smits, especialista en salud femenina.
La toma de pastillas anticonceptivas tiene beneficios adicionales para la salud y la calidad de vida, como la disminución de:
- Dolores menstruales
- Anemia
- Acné y seborrea
- Síntomas premenstruales
- Enfermedad pelviano inflamatorio
- Tumores benignos de ovarios
- Tumores benignos de la mama
- Síntomas de endometrio
- Cáncer de ovario
- Cáncer de endometrio
Los especialistas en el tema sostienen que el alto índice de eficacia de los anticonceptivos contribuye a la concientización y reducción de abortos por embarazos no deseados.
Algunos datos del anticonceptivo:
- El primer conceptivo oral surgió en el año 1961
- Solo se utilizaba con prescripción médica para aliviar a las mujeres que padecían trastornos menstruales.
- 50 años después de su creación, las mujeres comenzaron a utilizar las pastillas para no concebir.
¿De 21 o 28 días?
Existen dos tipos de píldoras, la tableta de 28 días y de 21 días.
Con los paquetes de 28 días las mujeres toman 21 píldoras con hormonas y luego 7 placebos que no contienen hormonas. Estas últimas son pastillas de recordatorio.
Con la tableta de 21 días tomas una cada día, durante tres semanas. La cuarta semana, no tomas ninguna pastilla por 7 días.

durante el segundo mes hubo veces en las que si y otras en las que no.
en ninguno de los dos meses me olvide de tomar ninguna píldora.
